The Kindle version of my book, The Heart’s Journey Home will be on sale next week – 99 cents!
The sale will run from November 25 thru November 27: Wednesday thru Friday, the eBook can be downloaded from Amazon Books.
No taking numbers, waiting in line, rushing the door, fighting for a
spot, or being arrested for socking a salesperson in the face because she just sold the last copy of my book to the person in front of you. From the comfort (and safety!) of your home you can download The Heart’s Journey Home to your Kindle.
Well that’s the whole of it. A three day sale of the Kindle version of my book and then it will return to its regular price for all eternity or at least for all Amazon eternity.
So now what do we talk about?
Being an indie writer is tough. You have to have a tough writing schedule and you have to have tough self-encouragement and you have to have tough skin. My book debuted two months ago and it’s been grand and wonderful and…tough. Sales have been slow but steady. The encouragement from those who have read the book has been wonderful. I can’t tell you how inspiring it is to have someone say they read your book and loved it so much they read it again! I wanted to cry, then it hit me. That’s why the true ones of us write. Not to make a million bucks (though I’d be extremely happy to cash those checks…), the writer in us write for that one reader – for that one fan that will read our book again and again and ask us when the next one will be out.
Writing is grueling. It costs. It eats you up from the inside out and you still can’t get the words out quick enough. It’s exhausting and demanding, back-breaking and relentless – like digging up the roots of a two hundred year old tree stump, digging down six feet, still trying to pull that stump up only to realize you’re only half-way done. You still have a good six feet more to go, and so you keep right on digging.
I love writing. I honestly love it. And if only one person ever bought my books I’d write my guts out for the rest of my life for that one. I kid you not. That’s just how crazy we writers can be.
